Scholarship Offerings

Excelsior Music Foundation is proud to offer two distinguished awards for aspiring musicians.

  1. Scholarship of $2,500, aimed at supporting students pursuing a degree program such as a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.), Master of Music (M.Mus.), or artist diplomas.

  2. Scholarship of $1,500 for pre-professional workshops or institutes at both secondary and post-secondary levels. 

Applicants do not need to have already been accepted into a program to apply. 

Eligibility and Application Information

Applicants must:

  1. Be a resident of the Greater Toronto Area for the past 12 months.

  2. Plan to pursue one of the advanced studies programs listed in the “Purpose” section by December 31, 2026.

  3. Possess requisite training for their proposed program (e.g., a high school student intending to pursue a music degree should have RCM level 10 or the equivalent; someone looking at attending a pre-professional institute should be an accomplished student in a BMus program; etc.)

  4. Demonstrate promise of a future career in music.

  5. Demonstrate evidence of community involvement in or beyond music.

  6. Demonstrate financial need, with a household income that is below $145,000 before tax.

  7. Be available to attend Excelsior’s annual concert on November 15, 2025 to receive the scholarship if selected.

  8. If selected for a scholarship and upon request, agree to share about the impact of Excelsior’s scholarship on their career trajectory (e.g., provide a written statement, video clip, etc.).​

  9. Applicants should submit the following documents no later than Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:59pm ET. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

    • A completed application form (click the button below)

    • A video of a recent performance not to exceed 10 minutes. The video need not be professionally recorded, but should accurately convey the applicant’s abilities and musicality. 

    • One or two letters of references from music teachers or others who can speak on your behalf. Referees should not be family members.
